Do you actually have a link outreach framework, or just a list of tactics?

We've been arguing that link-building results come down to having a repeatable framework — prospecting, relevance, relationship tracking, technical delivery — rather than treating each campaign as its own isolated effort. Wondering how this community actually structures things.

    Discussion prompts:
    1. Do you run link building as an ongoing system, or as separate campaigns each time?
    2. What part of your framework (if you have one) took the longest to get right — prospecting, pitch structure, or tracking?
    3. How do you handle prospects who don't convert right away — do you have a system for revisiting them later?
    4. Has building a proper framework changed your results compared to ad hoc outreach?

    Full framework breakdown here: https://www.megrioutreach.com/link-b...each-framework

Would love to hear how other people have structured their link building process — especially anyone managing multiple client campaigns at once.

A solid link outreach framework goes beyond tactics. It defines target selection, personalised messaging, relationship building, follow-ups, and measurement, ensuring every outreach effort supports long-term SEO goals rather than chasing links blindly.

Great points! We treat link building as an ongoing system, focusing on consistent prospecting and relationship management. Tracking took the longest to refine, but revisiting prospects later has really improved our success rate. A solid framework definitely boosts results over ad hoc efforts. Thanks for sharing!

A repeatable framework definitely makes link outreach more manageable, especially across multiple campaigns. I think prospect tracking and systematic follow-ups are often overlooked, but they can make a big difference compared with one-off outreach. Consistency in relevance and relationship building seems just as important as the initial pitch.

A strong link outreach strategy should be more than a list of tactics. It needs a clear framework covering prospect research, publisher relevance, personalized outreach, relationship building, placement quality, follow-ups, and performance tracking. Tactics may change, but a structured framework keeps outreach consistent, scalable, and focused on earning valuable links rather than simply collecting placements.
