Job Search Tools: Real Help or Just Hype?

I recently went through a detailed comparison of LinkedIn Premium, Resume.io, and Teal, and it made me question a lot of ***umptions about "must-have" job-search tools. Curious where this community lands.
    • If you had to give up two of the three — LinkedIn Premium, Resume.io, or Teal — which would you keep, and why?
    • Does networking still move the needle more than application volume and tailoring in today's market, or has that flipped?
    • For anyone who's tried a "free tier only" approach: was it genuinely enough, or did you eventually feel forced to upgrade?
Drop your experience below, especially if you've used more than one of these back-to-back. Real data points >> marketing pages.

I’d probably keep LinkedIn Premium if networking is a priority, and Teal if I’m applying to lots of roles. Resume.io seems more useful when the main need is creating a polished CV quickly. Ultimately, though, no tool can replace a strong CV and genuine networking.

Job search tools can be genuinely helpful, but they’re not a magic solution. Good platforms can save time, improve CVs and uncover relevant opportunities, yet success still depends on strategy, personalisation and consistent effort. The best results come from using tools as support, not a replacement for real networking.
