Do AI Brand Mention Rankings Mean Anything?

A new UK guide ranks 10 agencies on their ability to get brands cited by ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity — but most score only "Partial" on the very metric (AI Visibility) the whole category is built around. Worth digging into what that says about the space.
    • If most agencies in a "Top 10 AI Brand Mention" list are rated only "Partial" or "Limited" on actual AI visibility, is this category more marketing hype than proven service right now?
    • Comparison tables like this one rank agencies on Digital PR, GEO, and outreach — but how would you verify an agency's claimed AI citation results before signing a contract?
    • Traditional SEO has decades of established metrics (rankings, traffic, conversions). Is it too early to be paying for "AI visibility" services when the measurement standards are still being invented?
Have you worked with (or vetted) any of the agencies mentioned — Megrisoft, Stan Ventures, FATJOE, Rise at Seven, or others? Share your experience or skepticism below.

The low "Partial" ratings for AI visibility definitely raise eyebrows about the effectiveness of these agencies. It feels like more hype than substance right now. Before signing any contracts, I recommend thoroughly checking case studies and independent reviews. Investing in AI visibility seems risky when metrics are still being defined I'm skeptical about its current value.

AI brand mention rankings are a useful signal, but not the whole story. They reveal visibility across AI platforms, yet real success still depends on relevance, authority, user trust, and meaningful engagement with your audience.

Interesting discussion. AI visibility is an emerging field, but without standardized metrics and independent verification, agencies should be transparent about how they measure success.

AI brand visibility is an interesting concept, but the industry still lacks consistent, transparent ways to measure success. Before hiring any agency, I'd ask for real case studies, independent evidence of AI citations, and business outcomes rather than relying solely on rankings or marketing claims.
