Have You Adjusted to the UK’s Winter Time Change Yet?

As autumn settles in, even a small change to the clock can affect our daily routines, work schedules and evening plans. On 25 October 2026, clocks across the UK went back by one hour, marking the end of British Summer Time and the return to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).

Although gaining an extra hour of sleep sounds great, earlier sunsets can change how we organise our days. For businesses working with UK customers, the time shift is also a useful reminder to review meeting schedules, update work calendars and check international communication timings. While most smartphones and computers adjust automatically, manual clocks and some household devices may need attention.

Understanding seasonal time changes helps us stay organised and avoid missed appointments or confusion when coordinating with colleagues, clients and family members in different time zones.
