Are AI productivity tools actually saving you time

Everyone's stacking AI tools into their workflow these days, but the line between "genuine time saver" and "shiny new distraction" isn't always clear. Curious how this community is actually using them day to day.
    • Which AI tool has earned a permanent spot in your workflow — and which one did you drop after a few weeks?
    • Do you feel like AI tools are saving you real hours, or just shifting where the time goes (e.g., less writing, more prompting/editing)?
    • For those managing teams: how do you decide which AI tools are worth rolling out company-wide vs. leaving as individual choice?
Drop your stack (or your skepticism) below — genuinely curious what's working in practice vs. on paper.

AI tools can definitely save time, but only when they fit naturally into the workflow. I’ve found that tools are most useful for repetitive tasks, research, and first drafts, while too much prompting and editing can cancel out the gains. The key is measuring actual time saved rather than ***uming a tool is productive.

For me, the AI tools that stick are the ones that quietly save time without changing my whole workflow. I’ve dropped a few after realizing I was spending too much time refining their output. When choosing tools for a team, reliability, ease of use, and measurable time savings matter most.
