What is raster image and vector image??

Raster images are made up of thousands of pixels which determine the color and form of the image. Photos are raster images. Photoshop is the most common raster editor, enabling you to manipulate the colour and other properties of the pixels. But, because raster images are made up of a finite amount of pixels, resizing can be tricky. If you make a raster image larger dimensions in Photoshop, the software has to make up data in order to add the size. This results in loss of quality.
Vector-based images are made up of points, each of which has a defined X and Y coordinate. These points join paths to form shapes, and inside these shapes you can add colour fills. Because everything is generated based around this, vectors can be resized to any size without any loss of quality.

Vector images are better for logos, but if you're stuck with a raster, you can resize it in Photoshop, GIMP.

In computer graphics, a raster graphics image is a dot matrix data structure representing a generally rectangular grid of pixels, or points of color, viewable via a monitor, paper, or other display medium. Raster images are stored in image files with varying formats.

Raster images are primarily used with photos, which is why Photoshop is a raster editing program. Raster images are made of pixels.

Vector images are mathematical calculations from one point to another that form lines and shapes.

Raster graphics, also known as bitmap graphics, is a digital image which can be displayed on a screen. It’s made from pixels which are points of colour.

Vectors can be used to create shapes, lines, polygons, in fact any shape imaginable. The software thinks of it as a mathematical formula- for example, the user creates a line on a 45º angle from point A to point B for a distance of 50mm and is 2mm wide.
