Aral Sea, Gone?

Hi to all respected members;

As I browsed on net last week, I was surprised to read this article about "Aral Sea", I was disturbed at photos, (I am referring the before and after photos) the article provided. Before, it was a great and abundance sea, but now it's a desert?! , .You see, the story haunts me. I am really sad and always asking, what is happening to our world?, thanks for reading,I just wanted to share my thoughts about this issue.

Yeah,the article says that it's not nature's fault, but the irrigation system that supply the cotton fields (by hectares), the source of their livelihood. But, still, I cannot imagine, Aral Sea is one of among the Biggest, there might be a scientific explanation to this? and I hope the would be result of the study will publicly publish, so the people may know what's happening to our world.
