Let's cover YAHOO's Non Commericial Policy for API

    Commercial Policies

The Yahoo! Developer Network commercial usage policies differ depending on the API or Web Service you are using. Such policies are explained in the documentation of each API or Web Service. You can also contact us for more information.

Some of our APIs and Web Services are made available only for non-commercial use. For such APIs and Web Services, it's NOT PERMITTED to:

    * Use these services in high traffic, established commercial-oriented or business web sites or applications
    * Incorporate these services into applications or web sites monetized indirectly (by advertising, affiliate links) or directly - including subscriber-only content (subscriptions, software-as-a-service, hosted applications where your users pay for access) and for-pay applications, products or services
    * Access these services through productivity tools for businesses created to bring value to a business function, typically only accessible to select users

See our FAQ for more information about these non-commercial use only services.

By this definition, any website having google adsense or other advertisements (Cj.com, Adbrite, all sorts of ad) are not permitted when using Yahoo API.

This really puts a severe limitation if you want to be creative with yahoo api and make some money from your website.

So basically... most websites using yahoo API are for hobby (without any ad)?
