Well its good if you go for virtual hosting as the service you will get will be definitely more better then the free hosting.Also it depends on your website, if its commercial website used for your bussiness then go for paid hosting and if its for non-commercial website then you can go for free hosting.

As per my experience free hosts have many problems , they seldom provide good services , usually the host is down after some time and not to mention the spamming . So its better to go for a cheap Virtual hosting as compared to a free host .
