I have always been a little frustrated by the fact that good serach engine rankings relied on "static web pages" versus the normal database-driven dynamic content. It seems to be a popular and (truthful??) belief that Google a few others don't take well to a query string. Which is a real pain in *** for people like me.

Is this really true? Does it really make that much of a difference?

Looking for feedback on this....

When having a static page, the searchengine always knows where to find the content. Quiet easy.

And whether it makes such a difference or not...try it out ;)

P.S.: I think it does.

I don't think that there is so big difference.

Yeah, I think there is no big difference on static and dynamic pages in terms of ranking. In static, spiders can easily find your content. To make it happen in dynamic content, set up a robot txt and tell the spider where to go to your site.

yes it is somewhat true because when it comes to dynamic pages spiders are having a hard time crawling it but today google made a solution to it...

Although these two appears to be same, there is a slight but important difference. Basically, static pages as everyone has already stated, are way easy for a crawler to find the content and of courser keywords. actually i dont know much about the Robo txt, but i can say that dynamic pages are quite confusing and that is why crawler might need a help there. According to me it is better to crate static pages.

Exactly, Search Engine gives preference to static in place of dynamic one. The main reason behind this static URL is suitable in user point of view and also search engine friendly whereas dynamic URL is not so much user and search engine friendly thats why..
